Today marks the 100th anniversary of the birth of Elizaveta Pavlinova (née princess Obolensky, 1922-2003). She was a talented artist with a difficult fate. At the age of 15 she was left without parents, who were murdered in the Gulag. Since 1949, she was married to the artist Piotr Pavlinov (1921-2001). She gave birth to three children and gave them excellent education in different fields of culture: her son Sergei Pavlinov is a painter, her son Nikolai Pavlinov is a cellist, and her daughter Varvara Pavlinova is a teacher at the Moscow Conservatory.
Her colourful landscapes and still lifes are joyful and full of light. She was the author of colorful still life, portraits, landscapes (including series “Abkhazia”, “Russian Estate”, 1960-70s.), teacher, co-author of the book “Artist-designer” (1966), etc.
